Car Seat Program
Each year, approximately 1,800 children who are less than 14 years of age lose their lives as the result of a motor vehicle crash. Another 280,000 are injured.Child safety seats, when properly installed, save lives. A study released by the National Safe Kids Campaign, however, reports that at least 85% of the 17,500 seats inspected were installed incorrectly. The most common misuses were the safety belt not holding the seat tightly and harness straps not being used properly. Parma Fire Department is now providing seat inspections on the third Wednesday of each month for the remainder of 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Location : 3311 Snow Rd Station #2 (the new station behind St. Francis Church and School)
