Parma Fire Department has a smoke detector assistance program. One combination carbon monoxide/smoke detector per residence will be installed along with one smoke detector and battery for the remaining floors. The following are eligible for the installation of free detectors and/or batteries at the discretion of the Parma Fire Department:
  1. Parma resident
  2. Single Family, occupant owned, not multi unit buildings and;
  3. Must meet one of the following:
  1. All residents of the household are 65 years of age or older
  2. ADC qualified
  3. Permanently disabled
  4. Very low income household qualified. (Per HUD criteria)
